Melle is Research Associate to Prof. Dr. Susie Protschky and part of the research group Global Political History. He does research into the Indonesian Independence War / the Revolusi (1945-1950), with a focus on oral history, memory and photography. Besides working at the VU, Melle is Curator at Amsterdam School Museum Het Schip.
