Personal profile

Personal information

My research focuses on understanding how meso-level organizational dynamics affect (micro-level) group and individual behavior in organizations. I focus specifically on conflict and cooperation in organizations. For team members, collaborating means they have to find a balance between their own interests and those of the group. This can both create challenges and opportunities, and I examine the ways in which individuals and groups deal with this by studying:
  • The consequences of task and/versus relationship conflict for team performance and employee well-being
  • Conflict management and individual and organizational well-being
  • The social functions of gossip in teams
In my research, I employ various methods, such as experiments, vignette studies, and surveys.
