Personal information

Enthusiastic researcher and teacher at the intersection of language, communication, and health. In 2019, I obtained an individual fellowship from NWO-VENI to study the role and effects of argumentative language use in decision-making about treatment in neonatal/pediatric care. Doing so I use both qualitative (argumentation analysis, focus group interviews) and quantitative (surveys, experiments, corpus analysis) techniques. In addition, I am passionate about teaching. I develop and teach courses in communication and cognition, health communication, research methods, persuasion and argumentation. I enjoy supervising BA, MA, and PhD students. Do not hesitate to get in touch!
