Personal information

Prior to starting her PhD, Nina completed an L.M.M. (cum laude) in Dutch constitutional and administrative law at Leiden University. During her studies, she was a student assistant at the Institute of Immigration Law of Leiden University, editorial secretary of Verblijfblog, and interned at the Permanent Representation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Council of Europe. 

Research

Nina Fokkink is a PhD student at the Amsterdam Centre for Migration and Refugee Law under the supervision of Betty de Hart, Lieneke Slingenberg and Anja Eleveld. Her research focuses on the role of emotion in proceedings on marriages of convenience. Their research consists of empirical and legal methods.
