Pamungkas Dewanto (Yudha) is an external Ph.D candidate in social anthropology at VU Amsterdam. His research focuses on temporary migration of workers from Indonesia to Malaysia and he engages with the literature on migration legality/illegality, social movements, and transnationalism. His Ph.D project theme is "Transnational Advocacy Networks of Indonesian Migrant Workers in Malaysia". He is conducting multi-sited ethnography among Indonesian workers, both in Malaysia and in Indonesia. Aside from this project, he is also interested in overlooking migration policy and procedures in Southeast Asia.
