Personal profile

Personal information

I am professor in genoeconomics at the department of Economics of the School of Business and Economics of the Vrije Universiteit.

My research investigates how genes influence economic behavior, and how insights into the genetic architecture of behavioral outcomes can inform social and medical research. I am one of the principal investigators and co-founders of the Gentrepreneur Consortium and the Social Science Genetic Association Consortium (SSGAC).

Research Interest:

  • Social science genetics
  • Behavioral economics
  • Entrepreneurship

In 2015 I was awarded the ERC Consolidator Grant for the project "The molecular genetic architecture of educational attainment and its significance for cognitive health".
