Personal profile

Personal information

I am professor in genoeconomics at the department of Economics of the School of Business and Economics of the Vrije Universiteit.

Research

My research investigates how genes influence economic behavior, and how insights into the genetic architecture of behavioral outcomes can inform social and medical research. One of my core interests lies in improving the replicability of empirical research.

I am one of the co-founders and investigators of the Social Science Genetic Association Consortium (SSGAC), the BIG BEAR Consortium, and the Externalizing Consortium

In 2021, I co-founded DeSci Labs, developing next-generation technologies to promote replicable, open, and FAIR scientific research. Since 2024, I'm the CEO of DeSci Labs. I am also the president of the DeSci Foundation, which supports the development of a more verifiable, open, and fairer ecosystem for science and scientists.
