Pim van Tongeren is a researcher in the department of Environmental Policy Analysis of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam.
He has a background in Environment and Resource Management from VU Amsterdam and International Business Administration from Tilburg University. His MSc thesis addressed the willingness to pay for nature-based solutions in Vietnam. More specifically, he looked into the differences that arise when using a monetary or time payment vehicle in a developing country context.
Currently, Pim is working on the SALAD project (Saline Agriculture as a Strategy to Adapt to Climate Change). which involves 11 partner institutions from six countries in Europe and Africa. It addresses the research area of food security under climate change through saline agriculture, aligning vision, research and practice among European and African countries focusing on saline agriculture upscaling.

2017: BSc in International Business Administration at Tilburg University.
