Rens van Tilburg specialises in navigating complex strategic challenges in sustainability. With over 25 years of experience as a strategic advisor to policymakers and businesses, he bridges the gap between academia and practice.
Rens began his career in 1997 at KPMG before moving on to roles in the European and Dutch Parliaments. From 2004 to 2010, he worked for the Advisory Council on Science, Technology and Innovation (AWTI) of the Dutch government and the Prime Minister’s Innovation Platform. Since 2011, he has focused on sustainable finance, contributing to SOMO and the Sustainable Finance Lab at Utrecht University, where he served as Executive Director until 2024.
His work has been featured in leading Dutch media (print, radio, and TV), as well as in The Economist, Financial Times, Le Monde, El País, and Süddeutsche Zeitung.
