Rex Steward is a PhD Candidate in the department of Environmental Geography (EG) of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on land use planning and sustainable land management in the Dutch Caribbean as part of the SEALINK project.

Rex has a background in civil engineering and hydrology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (BSc) and obtained his Master of Science in International Land and Water Management at Wageningen University. His research at Wageningen focused on decision support tools for erosion mitigation in data-scarce watersheds of western Madagascar.
