Personal information

I am a research associate and junior lecturer at the Department of Communication Science, Faculty of Social Sciences, at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I received my Research Master's in Social Sciences for a Digital Society from VU Amsterdam. Previously, I was a visiting scholar at the Center for Social Data Analytics at Penn State University.

My research focuses on public opinion, polarisation, the spread of misinformation, conspiracy theories and conspiracy beliefs, and trust in media. I teach courses in communication science (BSc and MSc) and the Research Master program Social Sciences for a Digital Society.

I am also currently working on a filmmaking project in science communication, with the goal of increasing awareness, enjoyment, interest, opinions and understanding of research in communication science.

You can also visit my personal website for more information about my research and online material.
