My research from my undergraduate studies through my master's degree pertained primarily to multisensory perception, the way in which the brain ties together information from different sensory modalities to make sense of its surroundings. My current PhD project investigates the way in which multisensory perception as well as various other types of cognitive, social, perceptual, and emotional processes differ between individuals with and without autism via a battery of online tasks that I created. My goal with this project is to use this comprehensive battery of tasks to trace the contours of the autistic behavioral phenotype, learn more about potential clusters of symptoms via machine learning, and develop a supplemental diagnostic tool that is as accessible as internet connection.
