Rodrigo Luiz Carregaro is a visiting scholar working as a researcher (post-doctoral fellowship awarded by the Research Foundation of the Federal District, Brazil) at VU Amsterdam. He is a physical therapist, and associate Professor at University of Brasília (UnB), and coordinatior of the Center for Evidence and Health Technologies (NETecS), Campus UnB Ceilândia.

The main fields of practice and research involves evidence-based physiotherapy and clinical research, mainly with exercise interventions for chronic conditions such as low back pain, strength training, and economic evaluation studies.

Currently, at VU Amsterdam, He is developing the research project entitled 'Budget impact analysis of Pilates exercises for the management of low back pain in the Brazilian public health system'. His current research also involves other projects funded by Brazilian research agencies and the Brazilian Ministry of Health: 

- Delphi to obtain consensus on health economic evaluation content for training courses applied to the development of the Brazilian Health System (SUS)

- Development of a mobile application to disseminate scientific health information, pain education and home exercises for individuals with low back pain

- Economic evaluations and care pathways in the health care network in Brazil: Investigation in the context of chronic spinal disorders

- Cost-effectiveness of the Pilates method compared to home-based therapeutic exercises in individuals with chronic non-specific low back pain: Randomized controlled trial
