Roos Haasnoot is a junior lecturer at the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in Earth Sciences and Economics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. After two years of working and traveling abroad she continued her academic path with a research oriented master program in Sustainable Development at the University of Utrecht, where she specialized in environmental challenges in the Global South. During the master program she conducted field research on water management and regreening practices in Ghana and Jerusalem. Her master thesis has focused upon the implementation of nature-based solutions to make Dutch cities more climate adaptive. Currently, Roos works as a junior lecturer at the IVM institute where she is enrolled in the development programme for junior lecturers.
