Saskia ter Ellen is the Director of Knowledge Dissemination at Netspar Center, and Associate Professor of Finance at VU Amsterdam. Before that, she worked as a Financial Sector Expert at the IMF, as Associate Professor at BI Norwegian Business School, and as Senior Research Economist at Norges Bank. She holds a PhD from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (2015).

Research

Saskia ter Ellen is a finance scholar whose research explores how individuals, markets, and policymakers interact in shaping financial outcomes. Her work combines insights from behavioral finance, macroeconomics, and financial econometrics to better understand decision-making under uncertainty. 
More recently, her interests extend to sustainable finance and financial decision-making, reflecting growing concerns about how financial systems can support long-term societal goals.
