Sehida Begovic is a researcher at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA), focusing on oral public health. Her research centers on improving access to oral health care, particularly for socioeconomically disadvantaged groups. Since March 2022, she has been investigating how financial barriers prevent many people from receiving necessary oral health care. Begovic collaborates with various stakeholders, including citizens, policymakers, and healthcare professionals, to develop community-driven solutions that enhance the quality and accessibility of oral healthcare. Her work emphasizes the importance of understanding and addressing the complex factors that contribute to healthcare inequality, beyond just financial issues.
In addition to her research, she also works as a dentist and is involved in projects that address the healthcare needs of vulnerable populations.
