Selen Oskan is a Ph.D. candidate at the department of Management and Organization of the School of Business and Economics (SBE) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey and master’s degree in Organizational Psychology at Istanbul Bilgi University, Turkey. Prior to academia, she had seven years of corporate experience. In the last years of her career, she worked as a Talent Management and Development Supervisor in the HRM at a private bank.
Currently, Selen is working on a 3-year Ph.D. project focusing on a scenario-based approach to improve the success rate of culture change programs in organizations. This research is under the supervision of Dr. O.N. Solinger and Prof. dr. S.N. Khapova.
The scenario-based approach is based on quantitative trajectories of development captured over high-density repeated measurements in the field, allows for a configuration of alternative temporal pathways of how culture change unfolds, and allows for real-time forecasting of future developments, which is highly instrumental for change agents on the ground.
