Personal information

Dr. Srecko Koralija is a researcher at the department of Management and Organisation of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge (Divinity Faculty) where he was a Vice-Chancellor's Scholar. His PhD thesis focused on the linguistic and corpus-based relationship between different versions of ancient translations of biblical texts in the wider socio-cultural context. He is a passionate polyglot mastering several ancient and modern languages.

Srecko's research at VU (SBE/M&O - School of Business and Economics, Management & Organisation) focuses on the semantic relationship between language and other forms of knowledge (classical texts, socio-cultural environment, management and organisation, and the like).

He leads the interdisciplinary research project 'Educating moral leadership grounded in theology'. This is a joint project of the School of Business and Economics (VU) and Faculty of Religion and Theology (VU). It explores how classical texts like Bible can be formative to moral leadership in business, organisations and educational institutions. It intends to establish scientific analogies between research of classical texts and the field of organizational studies. The project intends to lead to new forms of understanding leadership, educational material, and transform educational approaches.

Srecko works on the project with Prof. Elco van Burg, dr. Omar Solinger, and Prof. Willem van Peursen.
