Personal information

PhD candidate in landscape archaeology embedded within the interdisciplinary Melting Pot project, investigating the role of land-use, agriculture, and craft production as indicators for the contributions of Greek migrants and local inhabitants to the so-called Greek colonization in Italy (ca. 800-550 BC).

My research employs palaeoecology (palynology) and palaeogeography to investigate the role of landscape and ecology in the so-called Greek colonisation of southern Italy and Sicily in the early 1st millennium BC. Further interests include the natures and ruptures of human-environment engagements in pre-capitalist societies within the contexts of European colonialism and modernity.
