Tanja Aalberts is Professor of Law and Security at the Faculty of Law, Vrije Universiteit. She has a PhD in Political Science (cum laude). Her research focuses on the interplay between politics and law within global governance, with a specific interest in security matters. She has recently published The Power of Legality (CUP 2016) and Changing Practices of International Law (CUP 2018). Her articles have been published in renowned international journals within both International Law and International Relations. She is a founding member of the European International Studies Association and editor of the interdisciplinary Routledge bookseries Politics of Transnational Law and general editor of the Leiden Journal of International Law.
