Tina van der Linden (formerly known as Tina Smith) started her carreer as a computer programmer, before switching to academia in 1986. She defended her PhD thesis on legal expert systems in 1994 at Utrecht University. After that, she has been involved in teaching and research in the broad field of Information Technology Law. She joined the Vrije Universiteit in 2017, teaching Blockchain and AI on both bachelor and master-level. She supervises many master theses, and she is involved in the supervision of various PhD students.
