Yongjie Zhang MSc. obtained his bachelor degree in Pharmaceutics in 2010 and received the master degree in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics in 2013 at China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing, China. During his master, he mainly focused on the preclinical ADME study of metal-containing drug candidates using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) technique. In September 2013, Zhang started his PhD research, funded by China Scholarship Council (CSC), in the Molecular Toxicology research group under supervision of Prof. Dr. Nico Vermeulen and Dr. Jan Commandeur. His PhD project involves the characterization of the roles of human bioactivating and inactivating metabolizing enzymes in adverse drug reactions (ADRs) using in vitro and cellular systems. From September 2017, he was assigned to a postdoc appointment in the same department.
