Personal profile

Personal information

I am the postdoctoral researcher of the Infra-Demos research project based at the department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I obtained my PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of St Andrews in 2012. My work has focused on everyday politics, public space, contestation, political imagination, and (de)legitimation in Athens, Greece. I am also interested in the politics of infrastructure and waste.

Previously, I was a research associate at the Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC) at the University of Manchester (2013-2014). I was also a fellow at the Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS) (2015-2016), a visiting fellow at the department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (2016-2017) and a postdoc fellow at the Käte Hamburger Kolleg /Centre for Global Cooperation Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen (2017-2018).

My current research examines the ways in which political practices, (de)legitimation processes, and modes of governance have been developing around infrastructures in Greece in times of crisis.
