Yerong Zhang is a PhD candidate at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Francesca Sotgiu, Dr. Jiska Eelen, and Dr. Iina Ikonen.
Yerong has an interdisciplinary background; she obtained her Bachelor in Biology (with a focus on Behavioral Science) from Colorado State University. She continued her studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she earned a Research Master's Degree in Social Psychology. Her PhD research is centered on how consumers navigate the online fashion retail environment, with a particular interest in the psychological factors influencing their behavior. Her research investigates inclusive fashion practices, examining how diverse model representation impacts consumer decision-making in online apparel shopping.
