Research

PhD project (2017 - today) on dealing with risk in integrated care for so-called 'frail' elderly. Frailty implies that one runs various health and/or social risks at the same time. By integrating knowledge, expertise and capacity of care practitioners from different disciplines, organizations and domains, it is thought that these risks can be 'managed' by means of proactive and preventive interventions. I study how patients, care practitioners and policy makers jointly shape 'risk management' practices in integrated care, given differences in role, knowledge, expertise and interests that complicate integration. To this end, I use a qualitative, phronetic research approach, focusing on power and narratives.
