Best Reviewer Award at the 31st European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS)

Melissa Sexton earned recognition for her exceptional review work at ECIS 2023. The European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS) is the main conference of the Association of Information Systems in Region 2, encompassing Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. It is considered one of the most prestigious gatherings of information systems academics and research-oriented practitioners in the world. The theme of ECIS 2023 was Co-creating Sustainable Digital Futures.

Sexton is currently a PhD Candidate at the KIN Center for Digital Innovation and studies how robotics development changes the workspace. At EGOS (European Group for Organizational Studies Colloquium)2023, Sexton presented 'Robots Uncaged,' a case study on restaurant robotics. The study explores the role of technology in helping organizations achieve their goals of equity and inclusivity. It is part of the NWO-funded research project titled 'Robots at work: Bridging the gap between the robotic development and workplace use'. The project aims to develop actionable principles for the design and development of robots, as well as guidelines for managers that are planning to introduce robots to a workspace.
