Evelien Brouwer, senior-researcher/lecturer at the Amsterdam Centre for Migration and Refugee Law has been awarded the Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship by the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence. During her fellowship, between 1 February and 30 June 2019 at the EUI Law Faculty, she will investigate different mechanisms of exclusion or entry bans of persons in Europe. She will compare the historical use of banishment with ‘modern’ forms of entry bans to foreigners, including the use of data systems and risk-profiling at the borders.
