Project Details
Description
Developing supervision methods and modalities for organizational networks (instead of single organizations) is key to improving the performance of these networks and whether and how they solve complex societal problems. Supervision is not only an element of the good governance of these networks, but also an important contextual factor that influences their functioning and legitimacy.
This research project addresses these tensions by designing, implementing and testing new internal and external supervision methods and modalities for organizational networks: methods and modalities which contribute to the development of strong organizational networks and their collaborative work in addressing complex societal problems.
We develop and test methods and modalities through action design research in four domains (health care, education, social housing and justice & security) with the regulators2 operating in these domains (Inspectorate Health and Youth Care [IGJ], Inspectorate Justice and Security [IJenV], Education Inspectorate [IvhO] and Inspectorate Housing [AW]), eight organizational networks and three branch organizations of internal supervisors.
