Project Details
Description
Investment in community building is needed to bridge gaps created by the pandemic and create a VU campus that is open, accessible and inclusive. Impact Lab is an initiative that provides structural support for a co-creation community that simultaneously involves all VU stakeholders in the design and implementation of solutions to improve education and campus life. Impact Lab’s challenge-driven co-creation combines an online collaboration platform with on-campus workshops to integrate diverse community perspectives into robust solutions. This project will execute an innovation challenge that invites VU community members to share ideas and experiences for how to make our campus a more meaningful social and learning hub. This project empowers members of the VU Amsterdam community by harnessing diversity to foster two unique forms of connection: interdisciplinary connections between students and teachers from different VU Amsterdam faculty’s and the connections between VU community members of the on-campus experience (connecting people and place). Stimulating the cross-fertilisation of ideas between students, teachers, and staff at VU Amsterdam will result in the co-creation of novel solutions. This project will further result in a blueprint that the Connected World Organization can use to establish a ‘Connected Campus Platform’ at the VU Amsterdam.
