On child soldiers in organized crime and desistance: a biography of two brothers

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The project is a scholarly duo-biographical study focusing on the life histories of two brothers, Khalid and Rachid Elbaz, whose personal and professional journeys intersect with critical issues of criminal justice, rehabilitation, identity, and social reintegration in the Netherlands. Whereas Rachid became involved in organized crime, Khalid managed to remain on the straight and narrow. These are two seemingly different, yet deeply interconnected, life stories. The biography seeks to construct a thoughtful, research-informed narrative that situates their experiences within broader sociological and criminological discourses.
