Description
Project PolyPulse aims to revolutionize plastic recycling by using pulsed light to drive and direct chemistry under dynamic conditions. Pico- and nanosecond heat pulses will be used to enhance control over depolymerization, reducing energy consumption, minimizing unwanted reactions, and maximizing valuable product output. This wireless, remotely controlled approach is adaptable for various plastics, contributing to a circular and sustainable society. The project will begin by exploring how to control the polymer breakdown process and will then expand to producing useful products. By systematically optimizing depolymerization under dynamic reaction conditions, PolyPulse will advance technologies for eco-friendly and resource efficient plastics recycling.
