Project Details
Description
This is a long-term book project in which theological anthropology and other parts of Christian doctrine will be revisited in light of climate change and the contemporary ecological predicament at large (including massive extinction etc.). What flawed ways of Christian thinking have contributed to this predicament? And what - perhaps hidden - layers in various doctrinal loci (e.g. the doctrines of creation and providence, theological anthropology, Christology and eschatology) might be retrieved and brought to bear more constructively on the ecological crises? How can this be done in responsible ways, i.e. faithful to the teachings of the church and with an open eye for the co-responsibility of Christians and other religious believers for today's ecological crises?
