Abstract

This chapter introduces the 4P4R model of creative governance. Creativity in governance—although vital, if not central, to numerous aspects of governance—has mostly remained tangential to traditional governance frameworks. To address this gap in knowledge, the 4P4R model of creative governance was conceptualized. It is a holistic convergence of modern and ancient wisdom, designed and intended to be a user-ready model that generates practical, actionable guidance for governance. The 4Ps stand for Person, Place, Policy, and Partnership. And the 4Rs stand for Rescue, Revive, Revise, and Rebuild. The framework can be applied as a near-term intervention as well as a strategic long-term approach to embrace social and political activism and advocacy. From the recognition of abundant possibilities for effective governance, the 4P4R model of creative governance sustains a synergetic harmony of creativity, spirituality, leadership, politics, and systems thinking.
