Abstract
This article explores the history of Studium, the main Dutch-language publication for the history of science, from its inception in the late 2000s to its ultimate demise in 2019. By looking at fundamental shifts in academic publishing during that time, we explore the journal’s fate by setting off its initial goals against its accomplishments, and reflect on the problems of academically focused, non-English journals in today’s scholarly landscape.
