N2 - This paper contributes a computational analysis of how informal learning within organizations often takes place. The approach covers asking questions, the influence of approachability and presence, and direct and indirect answering of questions asked. This is done by modeling different people with their mental states, internal mental models, and communication. The results show that both direct and indirect answering of questions to a help-seeker can improve or complete their mental model. However, when questions need to be passed to other people, this slows down the mental model learning process. These results laid the foundation for further research and confirms intuitive results.
