Abstract

A strained 1-phenyl-2,3-dimethylphosphirene undergoes anionic ring-opening polymerization upon initiation with n-butyl lithium at ambient temperature to yield polyvinylenephosphine, an unsaturated organophosphorus polymer. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2006.
