Aufbruch ins 21. Jahrhundert: Die Orgel wird inklusiv

Abstract

The organ is in transition: it has to re-invent itself for the 21st century. No longer will the church sufficiently take care of her future; she has to re-enter the secular as well. Her strategy is straightforward enough: connecting her wondrous sound concepts from the past to new musics by 'simply' adding a layer of cutting-edge digital technology. The choice and the option to not adapt these sound concepts to new fashions (which in itself is a radical break with her past, now over 2,200 years long), offers the organ also the chance to become inclusive: the church and the secular are both embraced, old music and new music do not exclude one another. In fact, anyone who is interested is invited to take part.
