Abstract
Opnieuw bewijst Christopher Anderson, organist en docent ‘sacred music’ aan de Southern Methodist University in Dallas, hoe inspirerend onderzoek naar muziek en musici kan zijn: na zijn onvolprezen boek Max Reger and Karl Straube (Aldershot 2003) en zijn overzicht Twentieth Century Organ Music (New York, Londen 2013) is er nu zijn vuistdikke Karl Straube-bio-grafie. Het boek leest als een roman, een eenvoudig voetnotensysteem laat zien hoe nauwkeurig de informatie is onderzocht en gecontroleerd, en Anderson neemt ruimte voor distantie en kritiek.
