Abstract
This translation of a popular book by the world-famous exegete John Goldingay is more spiritual than exegetical, the chapters being small sermons on a pericope of the book of Isaiah. The exegetical part is sound, but perhaps not quiet in touch with the latests ideas on the unity of Isaiah. The style is very enjoyable, the examples from his own life sometimes challenging and authentic, sometimes anecdotes from American life in 2015 lose their relevance in our situation. Nevertheless a valuable book.
