Abstract
This review of Willem J. Ouweneel's book on Adam evaluates the attempt of the author to maintain a historical base for a 'first couple' of a created man and women, from which all humankind would be the offspring. The hermeneutical position of the author are criticised, the conclusion being that the author defends a stance that is not deemed acceptable by a large majority of OT scholars.
