Abstract

Climate disasters are becoming more frequent due to rising global temperatures. While our understanding of the physical impacts of climate change improved greatly, our tools for measuring the benefits of climate mitigation remain rudimentary. In this dissertation, I develop a model to study how climate mitigation can affect future flood and extreme heat risks, allowing us to see where the greatest benefits of calming the waves of climate change are.
