Abstract
The new pension system in The Netherlands requires a clear quantification of the various economic projections that pension funds should focus on when implementing the law. However, the advice of the ‘Commissie Parameters’, published at the end of November 2022, does not provide any clarity on this. For example, there is no concrete formulation of the various forms of projected investment’s returns that play a role in the description of the new system. The essential role of differences in individual mortality probabilities in implementation remains unmentioned. It is therefore desirable in a real scenario analysis to simulate examples of the operation of the new system for different types of individual participants and the associated risk attitudes and investment strategies. It is good to learn to swim better before diving into the depths of the new pension system.
