Abstract
In this article it is discussed how the early Chuch Fathers developed their theology about the creation of the world. Three fields of interest are highlighted: creation out of nothing, creation in six days, and the goodness of creation. It is shown that the Fathers contributed to the debate on origins in their times, without the sometimes rigid emphasis on exact numbers and periods that characterize these discussions in our days. On the other hand, they emphasized some issues of great theological interest that are important until today.
