Abstract
In this contribution I argue that the classic liberal emphasis on individual freedom does not necessarily reflect modern optimistic views of man. On the contrary, it is deeply rooted in Christian notions of human sinfulness and frailty. Modern Christian politics, especially the kind that is inspired by neo-reformed philosophy would do good to consider this.
