Abstract

The pursuit of a thriving European "knowledge economy" is hampered by a onedimensional conception of what it is. The authors of the following article conceptualise three types of knowledge society and outline the consequences of this analysis for the leaders of the EU and the Lisbon Agenda. © Springer-Verlag 2008.
