Abstract
This article is a contribution to the research project of the Herman Bavinck Center for Reformed and Evangelical Theology, on discerning divine presence. It argues that God is still present in this world and in the lives of believers, but surprisingly different than often thought and expected. It is a comfort that God has promised to be with us . At the same time, He is present through His Spirit in such a way that He makes us restless and makes us long for his Kingdom.
