Abstract
In this article, I refer to the great interest in Islamic spiritual care in security, terrorism and policy studies. Two approaches dominate: securitization and instrumentation of this profession. Both indicate inappropriate use of the profession and may damage it. For instance, it could lead to the violating the principle of separation of church and state, to an attack on professional secrecy and disproportionately focusing on the interests of safety at the expense of care and humanity.
