Abstract
The early church professes the unity of the Old and New Testaments as the work of the Spirit. The Reformation emphasizes the importance of the witness of the Holy Spirit in order to accept the Scriptures as the Word of God. The chapter argues from these traditions that the Spirit makes the message of the Word resonate by answering the deepest human questions.
