Abstract

The aim of this paper is to study the effect of measurement error on mobility
from flexible to permanent employment in Italy. In recent years, the debate on flexible employment has been at the center of political and scientific discussion in Europe. To study the effect of measurement error, we use a hidden Markov model (HMM) with two independent indicators for the type of the employment contract. For this purposed we link administrative data from Istat with the Labour Force Survey from 2016-2019.
