Abstract
This article reviews the recent book by Eep Talstra, en focusses on his concept of Gods 'biography'. God as a narrative character, which pursues its own development in history, and at the same time is a living subject, not to be reduced to the thought of the reader. A wonderful concept, that offers a fresh view on difficult issues like the violent texts in the Bible, but not without tradeoff: how do we know what changes God undergoes in the course of history.
